@Sam I know what your saying there . In the current economy its hard to find a career that pays well and is consistent. I have found that if you just work hard and are consistent you can succeed. Look at the poster of this article, they are clearly hard working and have just been consistent over time and are now enjoying at least what would appear as somewhat of a success. I would encourage everyone to just keep hustling and moving forward.

I suppose Griffins view on Christianity is like Crusader violence with the Iolerence of thr inquisition.

i dont understand the concept of medieval patriotic christianity. I’m not aware of any real nations (as we understand them) then, just Kingdoms.

I think you have posted on the wrong group perhaps.
but just for fun…
if you are in England and Wales, under bankruptcy you can keep your car unless it is over £2,000 of value although this is at the discretion of the Official Receiver- if it is needed for a large family, disability mobility etc. Generaly you can keep your possesions if they satisfy the ‘basic domestic needs of you and your family’.

Europe was not entirely saved from Islam as Spain and Portugal were Islamic for 700 years. The Islamic invasion of France was halted by the French without the help of their fellow Christians. The Crusader attack on Constantinople weakened the Eastern Roman Empire to the point the Asia Minor, the Balkans and Greece were conquered by the Ottomans. It wasn’t until Lepanto (1571) and the Siege of Vienna (1683) that the Christians actually allied with each other for mutual defence. Prior to that they only grouped up during the Crusades in offensive warfare.

Traditional Christianity says there are “No Jews and no Greeks only Christians”, so all this rubbish about nations being essential to Christianity is nonsense, as is all that stuff about King and Country. If Christians actually paid no attention to national divisions they wouldn’t fight one another.

What Griffin is on about is the conservative, dogmatic ideology that Christianity became once it became an official and state religion. Once it had the whip-hand it became tyrannical. It’s also the Christianity of the slave-owner and the warmonger, that which says it’s OK to enslave and kill if you pray a lot and go to church regularly. The sort of Christianity that ties religion with nationalism, creating a fratricidal theocratic monstrosity. The sort of Christianity that says God is guiding the king when he declares war and we should all thank God for us having such religiously devout rulers. Not traditional Christianity, just centuries of bad Christians.
